Welcome to Food For Thought Lanark County

In the true spirit of a Community Partnership we are Feeding Our Future through the power of Healthy Food.

On average, 3,340 wholesome breakfasts, nutritious lunches and/or healthy snacks are served to students in 36 schools every school day. Approximately 600 volunteers prepare more than 601,000 meals and snacks annually. These volunteers contribute almost 18,000 hours of time!

Research shows that students who are properly nourished are more engaged in daily learning, perform better in school and have better esteem.

Founded in 2001, Food For Thought was created to provide a source of administrative, financial and organizational assistance for student nutrition programs. We are proud to support 100% of the Upper Canada District School Board and Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario schools located within the county. These elementary, secondary and alternative education sites offer a combination of breakfast, lunch and snack programs in safe environments, free of judgment.

Food For Thought is a fantastic collaboration where schools, volunteers, community organizations and businesses come together to make the nutritional needs of kids a priority. Participation in a program can play an important role in maximizing learning potential, lifelong eating habits and the healthy development of our children and youth.
